Professional Affiliations

Gary Ruitenberg has volunteered on numerous boards including serving as a representative for Nova Scotia at the national level with National Research Council (NRC) Building and Fire Codes of Canada. He has also been and continues to be a long term representative for Engineers Nova Scotia on the Nova Scotia Building Code Advisory Legislative Committee for building and energy codes of Nova Scotia. Gary is a current practising member of Engineers of Nova Scotia (ENS) and Engineers New Brunswick (APEGNB) and a LEED accredited professional. He was Co-Chair of the Committee on Energy Conservation for Nova Scotia (NBC Code Part 9), Past Director of the Consulting Engineers of Nova Scotia (CENS), Past Director for the Design and Construction Institute (DCI), one of the Founding Directors of the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA), Past Director of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia and Past Member of the National Joint Task Group on Natural Harmonization of Provincial Building Codes.
